It looks lime that device hasn’t been set up yet

Hi two questions-

im trying to voice command Lightwaverf relays. Recently google says “it looks like that device hasn’t been set up”. However, it has.! I unlinked lightwaverf and spent a couple of hours relinking all the products. The relays don’t seem to be recognised, although the relays work fine on the lightwaverf.
Any ideas- these used to work?

Also should I be using Google home or google Assistant as routines are available in both.

Some of the previous routines partly work, for example open the curtain works, however asking it to close the curtain moves the relay into the stop position,(this is not an option give. for the relay- it’s either open or close- but it does not close!)

Any thoughts appreciated

Hello @Colinmack,

Thanks for your reply.
Thank you for sharing the details about the issue you're experiencing with your LightwaveRF devices and Google Assistant. It's frustrating when voice commands don't function as expected. I also appreciate your effort in trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own..

To help me troubleshoot this issue effectively, please provide the following information:

  • LightwaveRF Model: Please specify the model of your LightwaveRF relays.
  • Google Nest Device Model: Please specify the exact model of your Google Nest device (e.g., Nest Hub, Nest Audio).
  • Network Setup: Are you using Wi-Fi or Ethernet for both your Nest device and LightwaveRF relays?

In the meantime, you can try:

  1. Restart Devices: Power cycle both your Google Nest device and LightwaveRF relays.
  2. You can also try saying to your assistant, "Hey, Google, sync my devices." Let's see if something changes.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge

Thanks for your reply.
Tried both suggestions unfortunately no change. Using LightwaveRf plus and lightwaveRf series2 smart relays. Google mesh, and a variety of google devices. All with same problem. The relays are set up to do on/stop/off (open/stop/close).  Google voice cannot do stop.  So I set up routines to change the open/close demands to stop at times from Lightwave. This works well. When I ask google to open it goes from stop to open. When I ask goggle to close it does not move it from the stop position. I tried changing the Lightwave to open/close setting on the app. This does not work either and as the curtain brand needs the stop facility I have moved it back. google used to work this well, and has recently stopped. I unlinked and relinked everything - took a couple of hours as I have many routines. I cannot get any of the relays to close. Another routine that was my favourite was to peered all the switches down in the evening, none of this works even with the switches, saying device cannot be found multiple times, however, individual switches (on routines created some time ago) still work, so I can turn on and off lights, and sockets individually but not as a new routine.
I have done both of your suggestions above. Some other routes it simply says ‘sorry I didn’t understand’ and I have added starters that cannot be misunderstood, even with my Scottish accent. Should routines be on both home and assistant? It’s like assistant has just broken in parts.
thoughts/solutions welcome.

Hi Colinmack,

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry that still doesn't work even with the previous troubleshooting steps. But not to worry, let me check other options.

Please try to set up a new routine using a different phone device just to check if it works with different devices. Also try to reboot your router to refresh the connection.

If the issue still persists, you might consider reaching out to your manufacturer for any updates for your LightwaveRF.

Regards,

Byron
