Live camera previews in Google Home App - why has this Nest feature not been brought over yet?

I just installed a Nest Floodlight camera, which only works with the Google Home app. I also have two older cameras. It's very frustrating that the Google Home app does not provide live video previews as the Nest App did. If I want to view what's going on at my home I have to click through every camera on my phone, as opposed to just scrolling down and looking at the video feeds. The "migration" to the Nest app started over a year ago, so why are we still lacking such basic functionality?

I've been in the Google ecosystem for a long time, but I'm starting to get tired of these steps back and products that seemingly and suddenly get abandoned. If you're going to force us to move to a new app, make it a better experience, not a lesser one.

For your Dev team:

As a customer with multiple Nest Cameras, I want the ability to view all camera feeds simultaneously so that I can quickly check in on my house in fewer clicks.

1. Provide the ability to turn on a "live thumbnail," for any Nest camera in the Home app.

2. Live thumbnail ,may replace camera icon in the given room.

3. User can scroll down across rooms (as they do currently) and see multiple live camera thumbnails at one time.

4. Live means these streams are updating in real-time.

5. No audio from these thumbnails is required.

Also, the fact that I could access my Nest devices from nest.google.com, and Home has no such portal, really sucks. If I'm already on my home computer and want to look at the cameras, access the thermostat, etc, I can only do it from the phone.

Would love to have a conversation with one of your product managers over there.

I've been trying to connect my flood light with camera to Nest app for the last hour.   Thank you for posting this!  Completely agree with you!

Yep, any newer camera simply doesn't work with the Nest app, which is fine except the new app (Google Home) has less overall camera functionality.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.
