Nest Thermostat

Hi there,

I have had my Google Nest Thermostat connected for many years to my Google Home. Until recently, I was always able to command my Google Home to "turn on the thermostat" or "turn off the thermostat". As of a couple months ago, I am no longer able to "turn off the thermostat". I can command it to turn on, but not off. When I command it to turn off, it responds with "to control your thermostat, you can say....and make sure it's added to your Google Assistant App".

Also, when I open the Google Home app and try to click on the settings under the thermostat device, it says "caller does not have permission".

Hi Sumeet1,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you cannot turn on or turn off your Google Nest thermostat device using the Google Home app. I am happy to help! Before I proceed, I need to ask some questions to better understand the situation.

  • Could you send me a screenshot showing how your thermostat device appears on the Google Home app?

  • Have you noticed if your Google Nest thermostat displays any error messages on its display?

  • Are your Google Home app and Google Nest thermostat updated?

I will be awaiting your response.

Regards,

Manuel
