Net camera disconnects since conversion to Google Home

Yesterday I migrated one Nest camera to Google Home, prior to doing this the camera worked flawlessly and not once did it drop the connection. Now under Google Home it takes a long time to connect and then within a few minutes disconnects and then will not reconnect while sitting within five feet of the router and the camera is in the next room. I should not have converted Nest to Google Home but did, so more than one person could access the one and only Nest camera used as a pet cam. Converting to Google Home has been a total waste of my time. I would like to convert back to using the Nest App and would appreciate any advice for how to accomplish this.

@jsswansonjr

If your Nest camera was installed in the Google Nest app, after migration it can be VIEWED in the Google Home app and on the "preview"/beta home.google.com website, but it is still accessed and administered in the Google Nest app and on the home.nest.com website.

Once you have migrated, you cannot undo it; you can only log onto the Google Nest app with your Google Account.

We migrated over 2 years ago, and have not seen any difference in accessing our cameras and doorbells.

Our Nest camera works perfect on wifi but will not connect via cellular (iphone XR ios 16.3.1), it is unable to load the Nest camera, which is the only device connected via Google Home. Once back on wifi it works great. Cellular data is enabled for the app. I removed the app and reinstalled. Prior to converting to Google Home very recently the Nest camera worked great over wifi and cellular. Not once did we encounter any connection or access issues.

@jsswansonjr

I've seen other posts in this forum where customers cannot view their cameras when using cellular data at home. Perhaps it's something that happens to customers that have migrated to Google Accounts.

Hi everyone,

@jsswansonjr, thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing the steps you've done so far. Migrating your account should not affect the connection of your Nest Camera to your Wifi network. Have you tried restarting your Nest Camera and Wifi router? In case you're still getting the same issue, try resetting it to the factory default and re-add it to the Nest app. Remember that after the reset, all of your recorded events will get removed as well. Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Emerson

Using just the Nest app allowed the camera to function properly today.

Please lock the thread.

Thanks
