Network Missing from Google Home

mj9999

I have been managing my Google Wi-Fi mesh system for a couple of years in Google Home on my iPhone XR with no problems. I got a new iPhone 12 Mini and migrated Google Home to it and now the network icon is missing from the app and I can't add it either.

I tried restarting the system and re-installing Google home, but still no network icon in Google Home. So, basically, I can't manage Google Wi-Fi from my new phone.

Any ideas?

Thanks

@mj9999

Are you logging onto the Google Home app with the same credentials you were using on your old iPhone?

Yes, I am. All other devices on the network do show. Only the network icon is missing. And the current network configuration is working fine. However, I can't manage from my new phone or speed test.

On a good note, as a workaround, I can still manage from my old phone. But, obviously, I would prefer to manage on my new phone.

Here's an earlier thread, with some suggestions that worked for other customers.

I don't see how to get to the earlier thread.

I tried everything, including a total reset. I was trying to avoid that because I knew how much fun it would be. Anyway, even with that I wasn't able to add on my new phone. Luckily I was able to just set up again on my old phone.

Long story short, I've had these routers for something like at least 6 years. And, even though they still work fine, if Google Home isn't compatible with my new phone, moving on is probably the easiest thing to do. I just ordered another mesh system and will give those a try.

Thanks for the help.

Hi everyone,

We appreciate your assistance, MpIsCustomer.

Mj9999, this certainly hasn't been easy for you. Let’s further look into this. What’s the iOS version of your phone, and the version (App info) of the Google Home app you have in it? Open the Google Home app > Settings > Scroll down to Support > Customer support code/App info.

Regards,
Alex
