Samsung S21 and S21 Ultra, on Android 13 OneUI 5.1, firmware is up-to-date .
When we lay our phone on a table (etc) and close the phone’s cover, after 5 minutes, any notifications from Nest app (specifically security cams) do not sound or vibrate. This was working a couple weeks ago.
Any thoughts or suggestions about the problem??

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay. Is the issue happening with push notifications or both email and push? Do you all receive push notifications on multiple devices? Also, are your mobile devices connected to a network?
Could you all try to connect the mobile device to another Wi-Fi or cellular network? Signing in to your account on another mobile device and triggering a notification to test might also help isolate this.

Juni

I guess a month later isn't much of a delay 🙂
I'll short circuit this. I'm a software engineer with over 30 years experience. I know troubleshooting
All your suggestions have been tried, even Nest Support.
This USED to work reliably - one day to next - doesn't work. Two DIFFERENT devices, exactly the same outcome. Nothing has changed on EITHER device.
The issue ONLY happens with Nest Android app ... ALL OTHER notifications from other apps on both devices happen INSTANTANEOUSLY as they happen , EXCEPT for notifications from Nest app.

No changes. I get notification beeps from all other apps the moment they happen.
I did another test yesterday (Sunday), using the TWO phones that have the exact same Nest notification issue.
Removed the S-View Flip Cover. Turned Off Power Saving. Pressed the Side Button to turn Off the screen. Placed both phones on a countertop and waited 15 minutes.
Gently picked up both phones and went outside and walked in front of TWO Nest cameras (Hello and an IQ). Went back inside and laid both phones onto countertop (no beeps yet).
About 35 minutes later, one of the phones beeped the Nest Notification sound I assigned (very distinct "old camera click"). I tapped the front glass and the two Nest Notifications were shown - they showed a Notification Timestamp from 35 minutes prior!
About 15 minutes later (so now 50 minutes after I walked by cams), the second phone beeped the Nest Notification sound. I tapped the front glass and the two Nest Notifications were shown - they showed a Notification Timestamp from 50 minutes prior!
It's important to repeat ... ALL OTHER apps send a Notification beep the moment it happens. For the Nest app, it's very random when the beep happens.
If I have the screen on and browsing the web (or whatever), the Nest Notification beep and display instantly, as they should. It's only when the phones are sitting with their screen off.
Oh yea ... one other thing I did with one phone ...
I went to Settings -> Apps -> Nest -> Storage, then Clear Cache, then Clear Data.
Restarted the Nest app, which forced a login ... same behavior.
EDIT: oh yea, one other thing to repeat ... this all started AFTER a Nest app Update ... before that, the Notifications beeped instantly

Here's a perfect example that just now happened ... see screenshot
I heard one Nest Notification beep, then two seconds later, I heard a second Nest Notification beep ... so I viewed the Notification list
See the current time in upper left... now look at the times of the original three Nest Notifications in list.
Delayed Notification beeps from Nest app that were from 30 minutes ago to an hour.

Hi myswtest,
Thanks for the additional information you've shared, and sorry for the delay. If possible, could you set up your camera using another network and observe if it makes a difference?
Thanks,
Juni

STILL the same Notification issue with NO resolution from Nest | Google.
Two different devices ... same problem ... Notifications randomly show up from 10 minutes AFTER the real event, and most times, Notifications arrive 30 minutes to over an hour later !!

Very interesting indeed.
The previous recent (Google Nest) "community specialist" reply (Juni) offers a "bit.ly" shortened URL to a form to fill out.
The most recent follow-up reply from another "community specialist" offers a "goo.gle" shortened URL.
Interesting that a "community specialist" offers a shortened URL from "bit.ly" on a Google forum.
Anyway, to summarize, I visited the form via the "goo.gle" URL and it wants, "name, email, and phone number" (as required fields) ... and optionally, "thread, username, and description of issue"... the Optional field values are obvious (read this thread 😀).
And, which may have been missed in a previous post of mine - I've already been on a "support call" with no resolution.
I've recently been testing with a competing product of security cams and their dedicated app. I bought four of their cams (average $25-30 each).
The competing cams are installed at the same locations as the Nest cams. I get a Notification instantly with the competing product. With the Nest cams and app, (that I pay for, over $150/yr service, and cams that were 3-4 times more $$), the Nest Notifications come in randomly (much too late), as I've already described.
So obviously, my smartphone settings aren't causing the issue. Obviously a Nest (app) issue.
