I’ve had a Philips Hue Bluetooth (no bridge) light for some months which worked with Google Home without any issues however, now it doesn’t. I’ve to set it back up with Google home but once I add the app and it takes me to the app page to log in it comes up with a message saying I don’t have a bridge just as it always did but now won’t allow me to continue and finish adding it. Anyone have a work around for this?

This has just started happening with me too! Have you found anything? I just factory reset all mine and re added them but that didn't help.

Same issue here.

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.
I understand that this can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,

Hi Garrett, glad you dropped in! Most definitely still having the same issue. I’ve had to completely wipe and reset my phone in the last couple of days so it was a great opportunity to try again starting with a blank slate. If only I could add screenshots.
So, I’ve set up Google Home and also the Philips Hue Bluetooth app, added my light to the app and then tapped the icon to add it to Google Home which took me to the Google Home app. Google Home then took me to Philips Hue website to go be permission at which point I got the error regarding my lack of bridge.
Attempting to complete the process starting from the Google Home app got the same result.
You know I haven’t used my single Philips Hue light as anything more than a really expensive normal light in over 6 months? I don’t know how long they last but at this point it’ll blow and I’ll have forgotten it was ever a smart light at all. 🥲
I’d super appreciate any assistance you could provide please.

Garret? Do you have any ideas on a workaround please?

Hey there,
Sorry to hear about the troubles you’re still having with your lights connecting with the Google Home app,
I have sent this information over to our engineering team and they ask that you provide them feedback through the Google Home app to them. They suggest including the keywords, "#Lights" along with the name brand of the lights and a short description of what you're encountering.
Have a great day.

Thanks Garrett, it never ceases to amaze me that a company such as Google has such a clunky help process. I've needed to contact Google help 3 times in the past and not once has the issue been fixed, instead I've been passed around consultants who have emailed periodically for a time before disappearing leaving me to eventually source my own solution or simply live with the problem. My issue with this only being the amount of time I've wasted which could have been avoided if only someone had straight up said it is what it is so deal or don't, you know? But sure, let's see if things have changed and hopefully there are enough other people to make someone care.

Hey there,
I totally understand the frustrations and I appreciate the feedback. I would suggest sending in the feedback so that our engineering team can look further into this.
I'll go ahead and lock this thread in 24 hours.
Best regards,
