Hi,
I Have a house with multiple smart devices in different rooms and at the moment everyone can change everything. I could remove them from the house but then they would not be able to use the devices that I do want them to have access to. This means people being able to turn on and off lights or switches from different rooms or even guests being able to turn switches on which I would not want them to turn on (for instance a smart switch that opens a lock). Ideally, I would like to control whether the devices can be triggered by guests or not (based on voice match) and also to restrict the use of some devices to some of the house members.
It seems such a simple solution being able to control what devices can each member use or to have a function that lets you decide to not let unrecognized voices use certain devices (especially since there is voice match).
Please let me know if there is a solution or a way around solving this.
Thanks

I would appreciate clarification on this as well. I was about to purchase a Yale smart lock and it seems that google nest is going away so that means functionality will depend on what can be done with Google Home. But if you cannot have any kind of guest, then it would seem to kill any reason to have that lock.
I saw a similar thread that was closed 'due to inactivity', but since this is a question for Google, that basically looks like 'we're closing this thread because we don't want to answer'.

Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out.
Everyone can use Google Home when asking questions, control smart home devices or playing music except for getting personal information since you'll need to set up voice match first. Check this guide for more information.
Best,
Alex

The reply didn't address the question I posed, nor what was in the other thread. It is clear that if you add someone, say a guest, then that person has access to everything. The point was: is it possible to *restrict* a guest to only certain functions?

Hey oldchemist,
We understand. Unfortunately, restricting guests in controlling your device or asking general questions isn't available. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns as I will be locking this in 24 hours.
Kind regards,
Alex

'...asking general questions isn't available' ? What does that mean? You can't ask questions on the forum? you can't ask general questions about guests? you can't stop guests from asking questions on this forum??

Hey oldchemist,
Sorry for the confusion. What I mean is that setting restrictions on your Google Home device isn't supported. Your Google Home can answer any general questions and as long as it is set up your guest can control your lights as well.
Best,
Alex
