Roku Works with google cant connect

My Roku system works fine on app or via web but my Google Home app will not connect via the "works with google" .  I spent a good little while on chat with Roku and Google and neither company had any idea how to fix the issue.  Any ideas? I've used 2 android devices and an iPhone but the Home app will not connect

  • Have you tried to connect the Roku devices with the option "Matter enabled" on the Google Home app?
