Smart tv says google cast has been disconnected

Hi 

I am new to this but I have a new Smart Tv, originally it was showing up with cast button on mobile phone. Now it says google cast has been disconnected. 
it is on the same wifi network, I have restarted both but nothing. 
I have deleted my app & reinstalled it back on my phone now the tv won’t even show up on google home.

i am out of options unsure what else to do beside reconnect my old chromecast which defeats the purpose of having a smart tv. 
can anyone help.
