I trying to delete my nest acocunt as I'm moving out. I go into the android app and through settings select "Delete my account". I'm then sent an email to confirm. I click the link, sign in (with my nest account as G-Suite accounts cannot be migrated) and then I'm sent a confirmation code via text. I enter that, then enter my email on the site to confirm deletion and then am greeted with a 404 page.

Hi Ojaybee,

Yikes! I'm sorry to hear that you can't completely delete your Nest account. Follow these steps:

  • Check for software update of your phone.
  • If same thing happens, uninstall the app then restart your phone then reinstall the app.
  • If still the same thing happens, try to use another device—phone (Android or iOS), tablet, or computer.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe

I don't understand how this would make a difference. After using the nest app to select "delete my account" everything else happens on the website through Google Chrome.

Hello everyone,

I'm jumping in to ensure everything is covered here.

Thanks for the help here, Zoe.

@Ojaybee, we understand that you've decided to leave our Nest service, and we're sad to see you go. But we're grateful for the opportunity to have served you, and we hope that you'll consider us again in the future.

To unlink your Nest account, login to the Google account you used on your Nest devices. Once signed in to your Google Account's profile details, go to the Security tab and look for "Your connections to third-party apps and services," and you should see the Nest option. Tap on it to remove all connections you have, or click unlink to disassociate from your Google account.

Best regards,
Mark

Thanks for your input. As stated in my original post I have not been able to link my Google account as G-Suite accounts are still not supported.

Hi Ojaybee,

Got it! Thanks for clarifying. Google Accounts already linked with another Nest account, Google Workspace accounts (formerly G Suite), group and alias accounts, Google Accounts for children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), and unverified Google Accounts aren't able to migrate a Nest account and are not compatible with the Google Nest devices.

Check out this article for FAQs about accounts for the Nest app, and let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Mark
