Tyua fan/light switch not showing correctly in Google home

I have a fan/light switch combo that has 6 speeds for the fan and on off for the light. I have used this brand of switch previously and it was working fine. I have moved house and the new switch only shows in Google home as a fan on or off. Previously this switch showed a speed setting and a separate light on off switch. Obviously something has changed in Google home as it smart life it looks the same as it previously did. I have seen reports of similar problems with gang switches that aren't correct. Can you see what has gone wrong and fix it please. Cheers. Warren

Hi Warren,

Thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community. Let’s further look into this. Try doing the steps below:

  • Unlink Tuya from the Google Home app.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app > Log in.
  • Create a new Home (for testing) > Link Tuya.
  • Command Google Assistant to “Sync my devices”.

Let me know how it goes.

Alex

Hi. That may take me a while. I have 67 things connected to Google home via tuya. We are about to go on a 2 week trip so that may be something for my return lol.  Thanks for the reply. Btw, I have noticed a few more double light switches that are listed correctly in tuya but are presented in home as a single switch meaning I have to turn both switches on at the same time. It wasn't always like that so something has broken.  Cheers

Hi there,

That’s a lot! There may be some updates with the partnered device that we need to do those steps. But you may try the "Sync my devices" first and see how it goes. We’ll keep this thread open; keep us posted once you’re back.

Bon Voyage!

Warmly,
Alex
