Unable to add an existing home to Nest app

Hi

I have 2 homes on the Google Home app; 'Home 1' has all the cameras & doorbells, and 'Home 2' has all the lights and the NEST mesh/ wifi router. 

This has happened because on the NEST app, only the home with the camera appears. When I try to add the other home to the nest app, although it appears on the list, after attempting to add it, the app just reverts to the app home page. No error message or anything. I am based in the UK. 

I access the NEST app via my Google account and don't have a separate NEST account. The bigger issue I am trying to resolve is that the doorbell rings outside, but the announcement doesn't happen on the nest speakers! So now there are no notfications coming through. And I believe it is because we are not able to add the Wifi router into Home 1 on the Google home app.

Please help as I am at my wits end now!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you've been experiencing some inconveniences adding a new home in the Nest app and with your doorbell.

To better understand the reason why this is happening, please provide the information requested below:

  • Do you have the latest version of the Nest app installed?
  • Have you tried to add a new home in the Nest app from a different mobile device?
  • Did you make any changes to your Wi-Fi network where you have installed your Nest Doorbell?
  • What is the model of your Nest Doorbell?
  • Can you access the live video of your doorbell?
