Voice Control via mini does not recognize smart switches

I recently installed 4 kasa smart switches.  They work flawlessly in the Google Home app.  However, when i use my voice command via my google mini, it keeps saying "it looks like those lights haven't been set up yet".  Please advise on how to trouble shoot this.

Hi ,

Thanks for reaching out to the community. I am sorry that your mini does not recognize smart switches, but no need to worry; help is here.

I'd like to ask you a few questions in order to gather more information about the concern and find the best way to fix it.

  • Is the speaker or display powered on?
  • Is the speaker or display successfully set up on the WiFi network?
  • Have you recently made any adjustments to your WiFi network, speaker, display, and/or home automation device setup?

Keep me posted so I can provide you with further assistance.

Regards,

Gabriela

The speaker is powered on. It is connected to the WiFi network, I have not made any adjustments to the WiFi network recently.

Hi ,

I’m sorry to hear that the inconvenience is still not resolved. I understand your frustration that your Google Mini does not recognize smart switches. I would be more than happy to help you; let's explore some troubleshooting options.

  • Remove the Switches from the Google Home app.
  • Remove the speaker from the Google Home app.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Create another home structure.
  • Set up the speaker back in the app.
  • Set up the switches back in the app.
  • Verify if the home automation account shows up under Home Control within the Google Assistant settings. (From within the Google Home app: Tap Settings Google Assistant Home Control.)
  • Check if the home automation account is listed under Linked Services. If yes, tap “Reconnect account” then follow the on-screen instructions. If no, force close the Google Home app and try again.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Gabriela
