What time is the automatic network speed test

In the Google Home app, if you go under the Wi-Fi icon, then click the > arrow beside the Network section.  Scroll down a few pages, and you see "Previous speed tests".  Clearly there is an automatic process running a periodic internet speed test.

My question is, what time are the tests run each day?  The app screen only shows the date.  Thanks!

Well, I found the culprit!  It was the Google WiFi app.  It was still on my phone, and although it doesn't work to manage Google WiFi anymore, it must still have some functioning component that initiates an automated internet speed test.

Uninstalling the Google WiFi app stopped the automated speed tests.

No one has any idea?

It's amazing that the Google Home app has this feature for Google WiFi, but no one has a clue about it.

Hi swatt,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay.

That information that shows on the image you sent shows the previous speed tests you or another home member may have initiated on the app. The app does not have an automatic speed test feature.

Hi Mal, and thanks for actually looking into the screen in question.  So your screen shows no previous speed tests?  My screen right now shows test results exactly every 2 days.

We are still stumped because we are not initiating any speed tests in the app, especially exactly every 2 days.  Something is doing it automatically.  What else can it be??

Hi swatt,

Could you factory reset your network and setup with the same network name and password so your devices can reconnect back?

Check this guide for more details.
