Ok, so I set up the home app on my phone, then I merged my Nest account. All works fine for me in my phone. Then I added my wife to my home account, no issues there. I go onto my wife’s phone, open the app but cannot control any of the nest products. They do show up but can’t use them( adjust thermostat/view the camera) I don’t get it.
What am I missing??
Thanks

Hey there,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.
I understand that these issues can be confusing but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Nope, haven’t resolved the problem. I have tried removing, then re-adding. Tried going thru nest app to allow access, nothing worked. I am giving up on the Google home app. Plus it still doesn’t replace the nest app completely. No support for smoke alarm, can’t program nest thermostat, Google app is useless IMO. I would still like to get it to work though.

Hey there,
Sorry to hear that you're still having this issue. There are a few troubleshooting steps we can try. You can try deleting the household within the app and creating a brand new one and then relinking your devices to that.
You can also uninstall and reinstall the app and clear the cache on the app to see if that works as well.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Garrett DS

Hi, GrhmW.
To follow up real fast, you mentioned that you had added your wife's account in the Nest account and she can see everything. You also said you made sure she had proper access. Have you also added her as a member of the household in Home? Do you use the Nest app alone to manage your products, or do you use the Home app as well? Do you use the Home app at all for management?
Thanks,
- Jeff

I use the home app for my entire house as to minimize the apps needed. I tend to use the NEST app because I have smoke alarms and door locks hooked up to it. I wanted to be able to use the Away and Home features for the NEST thermostat with all persons in the house. So that when I went to work and my wife was still home, it didnt change the temp. With her being still at home one would hope that it would override me being "AWAY".

Hey, bigmikelv.
If you make manual changes on the thermostat, it will override the Home/Away automation feature. You will just want to be sure that if you're manually adjusting things that you don't override your automated setup on days you will both be gone.
Thanks,
- Jeff

I understand that but that's not supposed to be how it works. Its shouldn't switch to AWAY, unless ALL people are away.

Hey bigmikelv,
Sorry for the continued frustration you've had with this. A few posts earlier I asked GrhmW a few questions about his account setup. Were your accounts set up in the same way as far as permissions go? I'm a little unsure why things aren't working in harmony, so any extra clarification you can give will help out.
Thanks,
Jeff

This response seems like that of a chatbot.
It's wild that no official support documentation exists on issues like these.

I still cant get my wife added to the nest app in order to unlock our door remotely. Keeps kicking me back to HOME app and that says she's not added .Nest lists her but the home app wont. Its a nightmare for me to "redo" my HOME or NEST accounts because of the shear number of devices I have attached and how tricky some can be to reattach. I have some older "switches and cameras that only work with 2.4ghz and the new NEST WIFI's have both but wont link. I have to unplug those and run my old Google pucks with the 2.4ghz just so I can connect them. So just creating a new home is NOT AN OPTION. I currently have 33 devices ONLINE.

The problem I’m having is similar to this. I only have the problem with the thermostat. In my phone I can control all features of the thermostat. But from my wife’s phone (which has access to all other devices such and tvs and the stove) says that it wasn’t fully installed on her phone and that I need to “Remove it from my home and start over again” and when I try to sign into the nest app THRU the google home app under the “migration” part. It saying my email or password is wrong when I know for 100% certainty it’s correct. This is a true pain because she need access to all the homes produces. Please resolve soon

Hi Jcolem19,
Thanks for reaching out. Is your account migrated to Google? Double check that you're signing in with the right email address. Make sure your email address is spelled correctly. If you use multiple email addresses, make sure to use the email that you used to sign up for your account.
Check out this link for more information.

For anyone reading this my issue was that my wife had multiple homes on her device (previous places she lived). I kicked her out of the account, then deleted all her homes in the app, then re-invited her and now it's working
