My mother was impressed by a friends Alexa, where they asked it to play music. I told her she already has this on her phone with Google assistant/Google home, and her Spotify free account. However whe I tried to demonstrate it, every time it failed it very embarrassing way.
I said "listen to Christmas music"
Google Response; "here are some pictures of Christmas music".
It did this every time. The phrase was recognised correctly, but what it did was bonkers. I checked Spotify was the selected music service and was linked correctly.
When I tried this on my phone (pixel 5) using my Google account, it worked as expected, using the same phrase.
