Adding 1st gen camera - no subscription -- to nest aware without migrating other 5 subscrptions

I have 6 1st gen cameras, but one has no subscription.  Can I keep my 5 subscriptions on my original plan and sign up for the Nest Aware on the one without a subscription?  I am afraid if I migrate and hate it, there's no turning back, but I have nothing to lose with the one since I don't have a subscription on it anyway.

Unfortunately, Google Nest is no longer selling 1st gen Nest Aware subscriptions:

"Note: As of July 13, 2023, Google will no longer sell new subscriptions of 1st gen Nest Aware. Any 1st gen subscriptions that you currently have will continue to renew."

You would have to migrate to get all 6 of your subscriptions on either the Nest Aware (now $80/year for 30 days of EVENT video history) or Nest Aware Plus (now $150/year for 10-day 24/7 video history and 60 days of EVENT video history) subscriptions that cover ALL cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure".

We migrated our Nest Account to a Google Account in 2021. We have continued to use the Google Nest app as before, but are able to see our older cameras and doorbells in the Google Home app. Gradually--slowly--Google Nest has been adding more functionality for the older cameras to the Google Home app. Later this year, they are going to start letting customers on the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app migrated their older indoor cameras to the Google Home app (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Nest-Cam-Indoor-1st-gen-expanded-support-rolling-out-in-...).  (This migrates specific cameras to the Google Home app and is NOT the same as migrating one's Nest Account to a Google Account.) We're going to wait, since we also have Google Nest Outdoor Cameras and Nest Hello Doorbells.

This is Google Nest's FAQ page on migrating from a Nest Account to a Google Account:

Thanks for your response!  So if I migrate my account, I will still be able to use the Nest app on my phone and don't need to use the Google Home app?  I just want what I see and how I interact with the Nest App to remain the same.  I'm not interested in anything else. Thanks again.

Yes, you would still be able to use the Google Nest app.  You would need to use the Google Home app if you want to add someone to your Google Nest "home/structure" and maybe for some other minimal things I'm not thinking of right now.

However, at some point in time--I have NO idea when--Google Nest is probably going to move all of our older cameras and doorbells from the Google Nest app to the Google Home app.  I certainly hope that does not happen until they bring the Google Home app up to speed with the Google Nest app.

If you do decide to migrate your Nest Account to a Google Account, be sure to read the FAQ page first. For example, if you already have a Google Account and are using it for ANY Google Nest devices, then the process is different, as explained in that FAQ topic on migration.
