I have outdoor nest cameras on nest app. I tried to add nest doorbell 2nd generation to app but was advised that 2nd generation only works on Google Home app. I installed Google Home app and now nest cams show up on Google Home but doorbell doesn't. I've keyed in serial number of doorbell multiple times to add doorbell but it doesn't work. Help!

Hello, you have just discovered what literally 1000's of people have been complaining about on this forum for about 4 years now. You can either use the google home app to manager the doorbell and continue to use the Nest app for your other cameras. The alternative (which is what I did) was return the Gen 2 doorbell for a refund and buy a new or used NEST HELLO (Gen 1) doorbell from someone on Ebay. That way you can stay 100% in the Nest App.

The nest app is slowly being shut down, as everything rolls into the Google home app. I have a gen 1 nest hello and see it in both home and nest. It's been a long and painful road, hopefully it will one day be seamless.

Hi @Clarine,
Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing some inconveniences while adding your Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) to the Google Home app. I'm happy to help.
As you previously mentioned, since it's a 2nd-gen doorbell, it needs to be exclusively added through the Google Home app, unlike 1st-gen cameras, which are added to the Nest app. While you can view your 1st-gen cameras in the Google Home app, functionality will be more limited than in the Nest app.
To better understand why you can't find your doorbell in the Google Home app, please provide the information requested below:
In the meantime, I recommend visiting the article Install Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen).
Please keep me posted.
Regards,
Anders
