That's correct, it's designed to work with the outdoor or indoor battery versions. Personally, I don't find it necessary for the floodlight version as that is already tethered to the base. In any case, I am sure it would fit the camera, the problem might be the chain/wire part as it's only 8 inches long. If the body of the floodlight is longer then 8 inches it may not reach behind it to be secured by one of housing screws you will use to fasten it to your house.
