Audio doorbell

Hello! New here. My doorbell (battery) will not let me speak to visitors which I know is not a feature in my doorbell but will also not recite the preset messages. For example the “no one can come to the door” or “just leave the package”. It won’t have any outgoing audio. It does however take great video and I can hear what the visitors are saying I would just like the feature where I can at least send out a preset message to visitors.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To confirm, do you also have a Nest Camera that's having the same issue? How far is your Nest Doorbell from your Wi-Fi router? Did this issue occur out of the box? If not, when did you notice the issue?

 

Give these steps a try:

  1. Open the Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap the microphone. If the camera is off, tap Turn on.
  4. The camera will chime on the other end. This lets the person in front of the camera know that you're about to say something. You can now have a conversation.
  5. To hang up,  tap the microphone. The camera will chime a second time at the other end, letting the other person know that the conversation has ended.

Hello, unfortunately the steps only took me to a “unable to connect to talk/listen” error. I do not have additional nest products just the battery doorbell. It is set up roughly 10ft from out wifi router.

Thanks for getting back to us. Could you try restarting your Nest Doorbell and Wi-Fi router? Also, reinstall your Google Home app. In case you're getting the same issue, you may reset it to the factory default. Let us know your update here.

I have factory reset both the doorbell and the wifi. I have also deleted the google home app and reinstalled it. It has the latest update and it’s still not working.

I did all of that and it’s still not working. It will not let me talk to the visitors or say any of the preset messages.
