Backdoor cam visible in home app but not on Nest app

Hello, as title says, the front door cam is on the nest app but not the backdoor camera. Whe. I try to add device from the Nest app, it takes me into the Home app set up, and of course this camera is already there in the Home app. Is there any way to get it registered in Nest too?

Hi NorthernSwallow,

If this is a new 2nd Gen Nest camera then it is only viewable using the Google Home app.

Cathal

The Home app does not show notification Icons for which camera, nor will it stream to your computer screen or TV.  You are restricted to using your Cell phone.  The Home App needs a lot of work to be as good as the Nest App, but apparently Google is doing nothing to fix the issues (they are not communicating to the Nest community).  Something is wrong and many are concerned that the Gen2 cameras (and Nest) may not be supported in the near future.  Google needs to reply or make an announcement to this community about a timeline.

@sastring

My Google home app and Nest app definitely do have notifications for camera events being triggered. If you are having issues with this please create a separate forum post.

I wish they would fix this. The nest software allows viewing from a computer. If I had known the lastest gen cams did not support this, I would have tried to find an older version.

Dear Cathal:

Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I have 3 Google Nest Battery cameras and a nest doorbell.  I receive an alert on my phone pointing to Google Home: which of the four cameras set the alert?

I have labeled my cameras with different names and that is displayed on the notifications I receive.

Cathal
