Battery Doorbell won’t connect to Wi-Fi

Hello

My nest doorbell is connected and the light is blue. The final step of connecting my doorbell to my Wi-Fi is the problem. It’s not connecting to my Wi-Fi that’s connected to my phone.
I’ve checked the password multiple times to make sure it’s correct, and still doesn’t connect. Any suggestions? @

Thank You

Hi Baldhead49,

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear that and for the delayed response. Thanks for trying, let's sort this out — a few questions: was there an error message/code you received during setup? How far is your Nest Doorbell (battery) from the router? Also, do you have an Android or iPhone?

Try the troubleshooting steps here:

  • Close all the apps running in the background of your phone, reopen the Google Home app then try adding it again.
  • Bring your phone closer to the doorbell battery at least 10 to 12 inches close.
  • Restart the router.
  • Restart your doorbell battery:
  1. Locate the reset pin hole at the back of the doorbell.

Tip: The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port at the back of the doorbell.
  2. Press and hold for 5 seconds.
  3. Your doorbell will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.
  • If all else fails, factory reset your doorbell then try adding it again to your Google Home app.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT

I am so sorry to hear that you still haven't been able to install your Nest Hello! Have you tried to Factory Reset the device? This is different from a restart. I wanted to remind you of some Important things to know before you factory reset. After you factory reset your camera or doorbell:

  • Your camera will forget your Wi-Fi network name and password.
  • Your camera will be "Offline" in the app. You won't be able to use it until you remove it from the app and reconnect it.
  • Any custom camera settings will revert to default settings.
  • If you want to save any video footage, before you factory reset, create video clips or time lapses and download the files to your phone or computer.
  • If you have a Nest Aware subscription, and you plan to continue using your camera or doorbell with the same account, do not cancel your subscription.
  • If you plan to get rid of your camera or add it to a new account, before you factory reset, cancel your Nest Aware subscription. After you cancel, your camera's entire video history, Activity Zones, and snapshots will be erased as soon as you remove your camera from the app. Once your video history and snapshots are deleted, they're gone forever. They cannot be recovered. We do not keep backups.

Important: Because a factory reset permanently erases the items listed above, we don’t recommend doing it as a troubleshooting step until you’ve tried restarting your camera and other troubleshooting options.

Best regards,

Brad

I am very sorry to hear that your replacement device isn't connecting to your internet! Do you have a dual-band router? If so, try switching the Wi-Fi channel and see if that does the trick. That can help some users, from what I've seen.

Brad
