Battery

The battery on our Doorbell drops from fully charged to empty battery usually every two days. So I have to continually recharge it. I live in Northern California where the weather is rarely extreme. What else could be the problem?

I have heard that if the camera is aimed at something that moves a lot (like a tree or a bush blowing in the wind or a street where a lot of cars pass by), then the camera wakes up a lot eats up the battery quickly.   Is this possibly happening?

  • No. That is not the problem. We have had a windy day and the battery is actually holding up better than it usually does when it drains within 12 hours of being completely charged.

Hey folks,

Restarting and factory resetting your Google Nest camera or doorbell will have different results:

Restart: Keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble reconnecting to the internet, or isn't working normally.

Factory reset: Erases all your settings and options, and restores its factory default settings. It will not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi and you'll need to set it up again.

You can find this information, plus additional information on this process here. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Best Regards,

Brad.
