Bug: Doorbell wired g2 quiet time fail

Diggie

I installed the Nest Doorbell Wired Gen2 today. It works great except that entering quiet time is buggy. I want to be able to go out on my porch without disturbing other home members with notifications. I start quiet time, the app reflects it has started, I have no communication problems/lag with the doorbell at all. I step outside and a person notification immediately fires. Notifications will also fire if I wait some time then pass in front of the doorbell again.

I set up one zone so that notifications for people in my yard fire a notification, but notifications are not fired for people outside my yard (that's the intent, anyway).

I wonder if quiet time isn't working properly when event zones are configured.

There are 3 members in my home, but I doubt that's the problem.

I should add, two members are arming quiet time periods through the day, but nobody is applying conflicting quiet time settings. E.g. the last time quiet time failed I had turned it on when my wife was sleeping.

Unfortunately, the "quiet time" feature only mutes ringing your indoor doorbell chime and the sending of visitor announcements to your Nest Hubs when the doorbell button is pressed. It does not seem to mute other notifications:

Wow, so how does one enjoy their porch without annoying allll members of the home with notifications? The only option I see is to turn the camera off, which is definitely not what I want to do, and the camera won't resume with a timer (like quiet mode) either so that's very bad for security.

Hi Diggie,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I understand how frustrating it can be when a feature doesn’t work as expected, especially when it depends on notifications.
