Cam with Floodlight stopped working

Todd4
Community Member

Installed Nest Cam w Floodlight and worked perfect for 2 weeks then floodlights stopped working and app showed camera on battery. Camera still worked. Checked wiring as I took it down and checked voltages and was all good.

Remounted and still didn't have floodlights. I removed it from Home app, reset it with button on back of camera. Attemped to re-add to Home app with it not finding the device at all anymore.

Please advise...Todd

Unless another customer in this forum comes up with a better suggestion, I'd suggest contacting Google Nest Support about replacing a defective camera: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Hi folks,

Thanks for your help, MplsCustomer.

I'm sorry to hear that and thanks for your efforts. Let's get this sorted — a few questions: what's the status light of the camera? Are the camera and floodlight seated properly on the wall mount? Also, how far is your camera from the router?

Going over the steps here might help:

  • Start over again by removing both camera and floodlight from the Google Home app.
  • Close all the apps running in the background of your phone, reopen the Google Home app then try adding it again.
  • Factory reset your camera.

Have a look at this article to learn about the settings for your floodlight: Change floodlight settings.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

JT
