Camera Nest outdoor on Nest APP

Hi,

I have a camera inside, and a thermostat.. i use Nest app, and everything is good.

I want to add a new camera (outdoor). when i add the camera, i'm redirected to Google home.

The installation is done, and the camera work with google home.. but i can't see the new camera with my Nest App. (phone or website).

When i want to add the camera, i'm always redirected to google home. i want to have all information on the same place and all functionalities with Nest APP..

An Idea ?

THX

Unfortunately Google Nest decided that its new cameras and doorbells released starting in 2021 would work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website. A year ago, Google Nest posted this explanation: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Message-from-our-GM-Updates-for-our-Nest-customers/ba-p/...

A few weeks ago, Google Nest went live with this "preview" beta version of a new website that, so far, livestreams both old and new cameras: https://home.google.com.

Google Nest has also announced an upcoming upgrade to the Google Home app, but it may still not fully integrate our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells. We've been using 2 apps since we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) over a year ago, and are still hoping Google Nest brings everything into one app again:

@vanbellel

I'm just another Google Nest customer.

I am guessing that you installed a new Google Nest Camera (Battery) in the Google Home app. If so, there should be a "tile" in the Google Home app for your camera, in the "room" where you assigned it. If you select the "tile" for your camera, it should display the live stream for your camera; if your camera is "Idle" because it is not wired and running on battery power, you can click on "Live video". You should be able to click on "History" at the bottom of the screen to see your event history. If your camera is plugged in and you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription, you'll see a timeline that you can scroll through 24/7 video history.

If you do NOT see your camera in the Google Home app, did you install your camera in the same Google Nest "home/structure" as your thermostat?

When you say you don't see a "schedule" for your camera, what do you mean?

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback on this, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest cams in the Nest app like you may be used too. @MplsCustomer is correct, I am afraid the newer cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Google Home app. However, you can now use the Google Home web app to view your cameras and doorbells.

The new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best regards,

Brad
