Hi @Alan24,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'll be happy to assist you with your question about the expected battery life of your Nest Cam (battery).

Battery life depends on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, the length of video clips, the time between recorded events, and by using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios. You can learn more, including tips to "Save battery for Nest cameras and doorbells," in the linked article.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Anders

Hi @Alan24,

Thank you for replying. That's correct! There are ways to keep a Nest Cam (battery) charging without needing to be brought indoors, depending on the circumstances.

  1. You can purchase a Wasserstein Solar Panel For Google Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery)With sufficient direct sunlight, the Wasserstein Solar Panel trickle charges your Google Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery), and the camera runs off the battery charge. At temperatures between -4°F (-20°C) and 32°F (0°C), the camera will continue to work, but the battery will drain because it can’t be charged in below-freezing temperatures. If the battery drains completely, the camera will shut down, and it will need to be brought indoors for it to charge again.
  2. You can also purchase a Nest Cam (battery) Weatherproof CableThe weatherproof cable (in 5 m and 10 m) and power adapter keep your Nest Cam connected with continuous power.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,

Anders
