Doorbell Ring will not playback

Hi, My subscription just auto renewed and ever since it did I cannot playback the doorbell rings. It playback motion, sound, person and everything else but I cannot playback the video when someone rings the doorbell. Also, when I open the neat app it connects and disconnects. I’ve already reset my network and the best doorbell. I had Best Buy come out and reset everything and it still does the same thing. Do I just need to buy a new doorbell?  Thanks.

When you try to connect to your 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbell in the Google Nest app and it connects and disconnects, does this occur all the time, or only when you try to do so when the doorbell rings?

I'm asking because when the small internal battery in the Google Nest Hello Doorbell wears out (it's now worn out on all 3 of our Nest Hellos), the doorbell goes offline for a minute or so whenever the doorbell button is pressed.

The reason it goes offline is because the purpose of the internal battery is to provide power to the doorbell during the instant when the doorbell button is pressed and power needs to be diverted to ring your indoor doorbell chime.

There is a workaround. If you turn off the "Indoor chime" option for your doorbell in the Google Nest app, it no longer tries to ring your indoor doorbell chime, and therefore no longer goes offline. We've done this on all 3 of our doorbells, and rely instead on "Visitor announcements" f(https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451) to get announcements on our Nest Hubs and Nest Minis.

Here is a very long now-locked thread on the issue, with over 1,000 replies:

Hi tfresh911,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you cannot see when someone rings the doorbell, and the Nest app shows that it is connected and disconnected. I'm happy to assist you! Before we continue, I need to ask some questions to better understand the situation.

  1. What type of Google Nest doorbell do you have (1st generation or 2nd generation)?
  2. When did the issue start?
  3. Are you getting any errors or messages?
  4. How far is the camera from the router?
  5. Do you have other Nest devices in the house? Can the camera find other Wi-Fi networks? What Wi-Fi frequency band are you trying to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?

I will be awaiting your response.

Regards,

Manuel
