Camera detects passing headlights

NVront

Hi,

I have just installed my Nest Cam with Floodlight and I live near a corner. Each time a car turns and the rays of light from its headlights move across my driveway and into the detection zones, I get a notification and the floodlights turn on.

Is there a way to stop these false detections?

Thanks!

Hi @NVront,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Cam with Floodlight detects each passing headlight. Help's here!

Have a look at this guide:

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Thanks.

The issue is that I have setup activity zones and I am getting false readings because the camera detects the light passing through the zones for that split second.

Hi @NVront,

Thanks for the follow-up information.

Nest cameras use software to look for changes in color and lighting. If you are receiving unexpected motion alerts, try disabling specific events or changing the positioning of your Nest Cam with Floodlight.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Melany
