Camera (indoor, wired, 2nd gen)

Hi there,

Got a camera (indoor, wired, 2nd gen) set up somewhat successful, but live stream never come up. It said "Camera unavailable" even though green light is on. Went to https://home.google.com and opened browser console to see the network requests. Saw one request to "https://googlehomefoyer-pa.clients6.google.com/v1/join_stream" with HTTP 500 returned. Payload was

{

action: "offer",

deviceId: "DEVICE_...",

sdp: "v=0\r\no=..."

}

Any idea of making live stream working?

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. Not sure if you have tried yet or not, but the first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Hi Brad,

Thanks for your suggestion. I've done everything I can, such as restarting the device, my iPhone, and my Wifi router. I've also tried to factory reset the camera and set it up again.

How are your Wi-Fi speeds? A weaker connection is going to exacerbate connectivity concerns.

Best regards,

Brad

I'm using NetGear Wifi 6 offering both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Petty much the fastest. I've an older version of Nest Cam. I worked very well with it's own app (not Google Home app).

I need some clarification on which device you are having this issue with. Are you referring to a Nest Doorbell 2nd Gen (wired) that was recently released? Or are you talking about the Nest Cam (battery), or even Nest Cam 1st Gen (wired)? Depending on which device you are referring too, it may not be able to connect to a Wi-Fi 6 connection if it is an older camera.

Best regards,

Brad
