Google Nest cam Indoor/Outdoor battery purchased a week ago and installed on outside garage wall. Live video looks fine, but any recorded events played back contain a quick flash white 1 second flash that affects the entire screen. This could occur anywhere within the video stream.
And then sometimes I will see distorted colors, an example being a white car where the hood of the car will show a purple overlay, almost like a picture negative. Just really strange playback quality.
I have a very good wi-fi signal at the garage location also. I'm wondering do I have a faulty camera or have others seen this type of behavior too?
Thanks
Bob

Hello jrw429,
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand your concern and we want to help you with this.
Give these steps a try:
1. If the Night Vision settings are on Auto, switch it to Manual. Then, manually toggle the setting on and off. Observe the feed to check if the pink or purple tint goes away when they toggle the Night Vision settings off.
2. Perform a Restart or factory reset on the Nest Cam or Doorbell using device-specific steps.
3. Ensure the camera is installed in a supported location and not in an area prone to overheat or direct sunlight.
Note: Overheating can cause issues with video feed quality. Ask the customer to move the camera from a warm location to a cooler area to help resolve the issue.
4. Ask the customer to unplug the camera from its power source and reposition it after it’s had sufficient time to cool.
You may also try cleaning the camera lens.
Regards,
Emerson
