why doesn't the camera record regardless of if there's movement or not? Someone was breaking in our cars this morning and it only shows the person walking up and opening the door , but it doesn't show the car pulling up and pulling off. And its black and white at night , blurry when you zoom in , overall seems like a waste of money.

If you go to your camera in the Google Home app and go to Settings | Video history, do you have "60-day event and 10-day 24/7 video history" checked?
Night vision on Google Nest cameras is black and white because they use the infrared (IR) light built into the camera, and the camera is not as good as during the day.
I'm just another Google Nest customer.

Hello @Williams2,
Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I’m sorry to hear that your camera isn’t recording, whether there’s movement or not. I understand how frustrating this is, given that someone recently attempted to break into your vehicles. Although the footage only shows the person walking up and opening the door, it doesn’t capture the car arriving or leaving. You also mentioned the video looks white at night and gets blurry when you zoom in. I’m here to help you.
