Camera says “no events detected” when there’s clearly activity happening. How do I record everything

I’ve tried everything. The camera is set above my daughter’s crib and she’s a very active sleeper. There will be hours where the Nest says “no events detected” but she’s thrashing around and it should be on camera. Clearly, there’s movement!

I am having the same problem!  The inside camera detects the event as they leave and clearly shows it on playback , but the camera on the other side of the door strangely says no events and you can not see anyone leaving at the time on the playback?? Did anyone get an answer to this problem?

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear that your Nest camera won't detect the events. To confirm, were there any changes to the Wi-Fi network? Are there other family members who can access the camera? Do they receive any notifications? Are there any Activity Zones set up for the camera?

wifi is great, there are 2 cameras and one  plays back perfect. Which is the strange part. No other family member access and no activity zones set up.  It is strange and random.  Example 3 days ago 3 people moving out of an apartment with many large bags.  The inside hall nest cameras picks up and playback all of it.  The outdoor which is 2 feet away outside the door doesnot show any activity on the playback!  But it is obvious from hallway they opened that door went out on porch and left??!  I went to the specific time and had it play slow and NOTHING recorded. Strange.  Sometimes it will records mail-carrier leaving BUT nothing shows for the mail carrier
arriving and placing letters in the box!
 
No changes to WiFi in fact the other nest camera works perfect! It is random. No other family members access cameras. No activity zones are set up.  I should have 24/7 recording.  The strange thing is.. example. 5 people walk out of door  carrying furniture and recorded on the hallway camera opening the door on one nest camera... then the other nest camera should pick up on the other side, but it shows zero activity!! In fact when I go to specific time and play back anyway, there is nothing.. So strange.   Later it will work.... Than later it will show mailman leaving out of gate but no mailman walking up and putting mail in the box!!!

Hey there,

 

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
