Subject: Issue with Nest Aware Camera Playback on iOS Home App

Details:

I have a setup with 4 cameras using Nest Aware. I primarily use iOS devices but also have an Android phone. When attempting to view recorded videos on my iOS device, the playback starts but is frequently interrupted by an error message stating "Camera unavailable - Couldn't reach this camera." However, playback on my Android phone works flawlessly, which leads me to believe the issue is isolated to the iOS Home app.

Troubleshooting steps I've already taken include deleting and reinstalling the iOS Home app and restarting the cameras, but the problem persists.

Any advice on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

We have iPhones and iPads and do not have this problem.

Is your iOS device on the same Wi-Fi network as your Android phone and your cameras?

Hi folks,

Thanks for chiming in, @MplsCustomer

@MplsCustomer, uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the Nest Aware camera playback on the iOS Home app. Try these:

  1. Ensure that your iOS device is connected to a stable and reliable internet connection. Poor connectivity can cause issues with camera playback. You can try switching to a different Wi-Fi network or using cellular data to see if the problem persists.
  2. Make sure that your iOS device is running the latest version of iOS and that the Home app is up to date. Outdated software versions can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Updating to the latest versions can resolve any known bugs or glitches.
  3. In the Home app, go to Settings > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage. Find the Home app in the list and tap on it. Then, tap "Delete App" to remove the app and its cache. Reinstall the Home app from the App Store and sign back in. This can help clear any temporary data or corrupt files that may be causing the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
