All of a sudden today it seems like the white balance on the camera just stopped correcting. Also yesterday the camera said it was unplugged but was not and today it says its plugged in but the video is unusable. Any ideas?

Hello, what a bummer. I'm an end user like you and have been around the nest games since the start.
The first thing to try it unplugging/removing the power for about a minute and let the camera come back on-line. If after doing that the problem is still there then most likely it has gone bad and cannot be repaired. Google will mostly replace it if is under the 1-year warranty since you purchased it.
Keep in mind if you do this and hit has truly gone bad then it may not even come back on-line at all.
