Hi!
Nest Battery Camera won’t detect events (people, vehicles, etc.) unless I’m in the Google Home app looking at the stream. When I’m looking at the live stream the app will provide notifications of events currently happening. I’m experiencing this on my 2 camera that are outdoors (driveway and patio).

When did the inconvenience start?
How far are the cameras from your Wi-Fi network?
Have there been any changes to your Wi-Fi network?
Have the cameras been moved recently?
Are there any Activity Zones set up for the cameras?
In the meantime, let's try a few things! First, please ensure your internet connection is strong and stable. Sometimes, simply moving your Nest Cams a bit closer to your router can make a big difference. Also, take a moment to double-check that all notification settings are enabled for your cameras in the Google Home app, and feel free to customize them. Hi Ana,
It started for the driveway camera very shortly after I installed it. I just started to notice that it started recording halfway through an event or not at all.
The cameras are both on the outside of the house roughly 45' from the Wi-Fi network router.
No changes to the Wi-Fi network.
The cameras have only been removed to recharge.
I did setup an activity zone for the driveway camera after I noticed the issue and after reading on some forums that the activity zone may help.
I have checked on my notification within the app and I did raise my camera sensitivity to "high".

To assist you further, could you please clarify if the issue is occurring with push notifications, email notifications, or both?
In the meantime, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
Restart your camera. You can find instructions on how to do this in the following article: Restart or factory reset Nest camera or doorbell.
If the issue persists, you may need to download any important video records, perform a factory reset, and then set up the camera again.
