Can I use a Google next cam on a wifi hot spot device in my car?

I want to use a Google Nest Cam (battery version) to monitor my van while I'm working.  I have a Solis|Lite wifi hot spot which does fine for my phone and laptop, but I can seem to connect the cameral to the wifi hotspot.  Gets to the end of the setup and says 'can't communicate with Google'.  I've set this same camera up on my house network so I know that it works.  Please advise.

Hi JoFulkerson,

If you're experiencing difficulties connecting your Google Nest Cam (battery version) to your Solis|Lite Wi-Fi hotspot, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Ensure that the Solis|Lite Wi-Fi hotspot is compatible with the Nest Cam. Some Wi-Fi hotspots may have limitations or specific settings that are not compatible with certain devices. Check the specifications and requirements of Internet bandwidth and speed requirements for Nest Cameras.
  2. Verify that the Nest Cam is within range of the Solis|Lite Wi-Fi hotspot and that the signal strength is adequate. If the camera is too far from the hotspot or if there are obstructions affecting the signal, it may not be able to establish a stable connection. Try moving the camera closer to the hotspot and ensuring a clear line of sight between them.
  3. Check the Wi-Fi network settings on the Solis|Lite hotspot. Ensure that it is broadcasting a stable and secure Wi-Fi signal. If there are any specific settings or restrictions on the hotspot, such as MAC address filtering or client isolation, make sure they are properly configured to allow the Nest Cam to connect.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Zoe
