Can’t connect 2 google cameras to WiFi at same time

Yesterday, I got a new internet provider and also a second camera. By the way, I have the 2nd gen google wired camera but the drop down menu doesn’t provide an option for google camera, just best. First camera connected fine. Went to connect second camera, it connected but then the first camera disconnected. Connected first camera, second camera disconnected. Rinse and repeat. Finally got both connected but got home today and one was disconnected again! Now I can’t get it reconnected at all. Can 2 cameras not be connected at the same time or what?! This is utterly ridiculous and when I contact support, they are of no help at all.

Hello PDS1014,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Remove the 2 Nest Cameras from your Google Home app then reset both of them to the factory default and make sure they have the blue light pulsing, indicating that they're ready to connect.

To reset:

  1. Locate the reset hole on the bottom of the Nest Camera head. It’s between the power cord and the camera neck.
  2. Insert a paper clip, thumbtack or similar into the hole. Press and hold down.
  • At 10 seconds, the status light will blink yellow four times, and you’ll hear a countdown tone.
  • At 12 seconds, the status light will be solid yellow. When the camera begins resetting, you’ll hear a confirmation tone.
  1. Release the button. Your Nest Camera will restore to its factory settings.
  2. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.

Looking forward to your update here.

Best,

Emerson
