Can’t enter serial number to install on app

The 6-character alphanumeric setup code printed on the base of the camera--not the serial number--can be used instead of scanning the QR code when installing a 2nd gen Google Nest indoor camera in the Google Home app, as shown at about 1:00 in this video:

Can’t enter serial number in screen no way to input it

I'm just another Google Nest customer.
I don't know how I provided a link for installing the 2nd gen indoor camera. Here's a link for installing the 2nd gen battery camera. The install instructions start at about 0:56 in the video. If you don't have the QR code, you select "Continue without scanning":

What happens when you follow those instructions in the Google Home app?

I am having the same issue. I have 4 cameras on my house. All 4 get to the same page. I have google outdoor cameras. Each get to the page “Choose the last 4 digits of your cameras serial number.” Then nothing happens. I have tried in BOTH Nest app and Google Home app. Neither work both get to the same page for all 4 of the cameras. Any success?

You could try contacting Support, where you can explain the details of your situation, such as what happened that led to to re-install, whether you have 1st gen or a 2nd gen cameras (which affects whether you re-install in the Google Nest app or the Google Home app, and whether you were able to remove your cameras from the Google Nest app or the Google Home app (as appropriate):
1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
