Can’t get Gen2 nest wired doorbell to connect

I have tried everything to get my door bell connected again. It keeps coming back that it is still connected to another account but I bought it new and it will do connect in the nest app and Google home can’t even discover it. I’m ready to switch to Ring

If it's a brand-new doorbell, you should not get a message saying it's still connected to another account, unless you perhaps got part-way through the install process before the install process failed.  It could also happen if you've had the doorbell for awhile and changed Wi-Fi networks without performing a factory reset and are then trying to reinstall it.

You could try performing a factory reset; see the instructions here (scroll down past the "restart" instructions):

Then you can try reinstalling.

It's only the 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells that get installed in the Google Nest app, and they haven't been sold for several years.

The 2nd and 3rd gen doorbells get installed in the Google Home app.

I'm just another Google Nest customer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted the nest app and google home. I then downloaded the nest app and bingo! The doorbell and the interior camera were active and visible. Thanks for the hint.
