The police have requested some footage from my doorbell cam.
I've saved the relevant clips, clicked on the 'unlock' symbol to make them viewable by others, copied and pasted the links. But when anyone apart from me tries to open the links they get a message saying 'the clip has left the internet'.
Any ideas why?

I do not know how to correct your problem, however, have you considered sending the downloaded files with file transfers? You could thus download the clips on your device and make them available to the police via a Dropbox or other file transfer operator. This is what I did some time ago.

I’ve done this but annoyingly the download does not transfer the metadata so it is hard to tell what time precisely the video was taken

You are correct, the downloaded files do not contain the timeline, unless you have a first generation camera. The first generation cameras, have a timeline in the downloaded files that you can view in the English comments.

Hi folks,
@surfer1978, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. How's it going? In case you need steps on having timestamps to your video clips, you may follow the steps below:
Display the timestamp in a video clip
Note: Timestamps are not saved with timelapses (footage that has been sped up to show several minutes or hours in a few seconds).
Tip: You can also find the date and time of video clips saved in the video clip library at https://goo.gle/2qjvVSU:
I appreciate your response, gilleslibre.
