I had an original nest cam from around 2012. You could define zones and it would even send pictures to my email if there was movement. I just purchased a nest cam outdoor with battery, and it allows me to create a zone, but I cannot turn on notifications. There is no menu that shows the way it does in the YouTube help videos.
does anyone have a solution?

Also when i plug camera into computer by charging USB, Win10, and follow instructions, NOTHING HAPPENS. Camera has green light. www.home.nest.com is unresponsive and not detecting camera.

The Nest Cam (battery) is only available on the Google Home App. You cannot view it on the Nest app or the Nest web app. I believe that Activity Zones will help you out in this situation. You will need to create the zones in the Google Home app, or the Google Home Web app. You can learn more about them here. I hope you find the article helpful.
