Can we use the google nest mini / display as a chime without visitor announcement?

Hi,

My home is just newly renovated and the old chime has been removed already. After installation of my nest doorbell (wired) with nest mini and google display hub, in order to trigger the dingdong sound, I have to activate the visitor announcement but it's so annoying with the human voice.

Is there any way just to activate the ringtone function instead of the voice speaking aloud for visitor announcement? I want to use my mini and hub as a digital chime and camera display only.

@babytsui

I've seen posts from other customers asking for this same capability (chime-only visitor announcement), but the capability does not currently exist.  However, the voice announcement does tell us which doorbell has been rung.

I appreciate the voice announcement function but my parents just hate the repeated voice everytime someone press the doorbell. If google can let user activate the ringtone only or make one device like Alexa Chime it would be great.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response, and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I'm terribly sorry to hear that you're having these troubles. I understand how upsetting this could be, but I'm happy to assist you with this obstacle. I am afraid that this feature you are requesting is not a current feature. You are welcome to share your feedback in the app, but I am not able to confirm nor deny that this will be a feature moving forward.

Best Regards,
Brad
