Chime Only Doorbell

AlMalone
Community Member

There doesn't seem to be any way to disable the pointless announcement after the chime when the doorbell is pressed.

When someone presses the front doorbell, the nest hub and home minis all chime *Ding Dong*. This (obviously!) means "there's someone at the door". But then every speaker in the house announces "There's someone at the door" out of sync. I know that: I heard the *Ding Dong*!

Why would I need or want this redundant announcement? How do I turn it off?

Unfortunately, Google Nest does not give us such an option. In our case, with 3 doorbells, it's helpful to know which one.

Hello AlMalone,

Thanks for posting in our Community. I wanted to follow up with you to see if you still needed help. Have you seen MplsCustomer’s response above?

I totally understand that disabling the second part of the visitor announcement is a good feature to use with your Nest doorbell, but it isn’t available. As this is a community forum supported by other users and community specialists, the best way to get your thoughts, feedback, or feature requests to the people who can make changes is to share feedback about Google Nest.

Reach out if you have any other questions.

I appreciate your help, MplsCustomer.

Best,

Lance
