Forced to switch feom nest to Google platform

Iam very disappointed that I was forced to switch from the nest platform to Google.  My subscription would not renew unless I switched. The service is not in the lest bit satisfactory seeing that I am missing camera footage of events taking place. We have even had people approach our front door and no notification or camera footage was recorded. I am considering canceling my subscription because it is not what I bought or subscribed to initially. Shame on Google for forcing their customers to use their services.!!!

Thanks for posting in our Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with this. Let’s check it out.


A few questions: does the camera have a stable Wi-Fi connection? Does it go offline when there's a person? Did you notice if the camera lost power during the event?


Please toggle the event settings off and then back on. Follow the steps below:


  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Favorites or Devices.
  • Tap and hold your device's tile > More > Settings.
  • Select Events.
  • Turn off each event setting, then turn them back on.
  • Have someone stand in front of the camera to trigger an event and check if it was recorded.
