Chime Volume Setting

TW1234

Hi, I really like my Google doorbell but there definitely some improvements that could be  made. It would be so good if there was a way of hearing the doorbell chime louder in the house maybe through a dedicated chime volume option on the Nest hub?  Also, I get notifications on my phone if someone rings the doorbell but it has the same notification sound as every other notification on my phone, it would be great if it could be different so I know it's the doorbell to give it priority. Thank you.

I bought a Nest Hub and Nest Mini to set in different rooms in my apartment, but I too wish the volume could be louder. Would be useful to hear it over the TV, say.

Any response to the chime volume? I have a Gen 2 wired and have a very low chime volume with no means of increasing the chime. I tried changing the types but nothing improved.

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Brad,

I will try that tomorrow. If I remember correctly, it is done by holding something in the pin hole in the back for 5 seconds. I will fill you in on the results.

That is correct, the article I posted earlier will go over instructions on how to restart, or factory reset your Nest cameras. Please let me know how it goes.

Brad,

I took the wired doorbell off the mount and held the pinhole until the LED went white. I remounted and no change in the volume of the doorbell chime. I do have the  Visitor Announcement option turned on even though I am not a subscription customer and the system tells me that someone is at the door. That is loud enough and broadcasts over my Google hub, mini, and mesh pods. It is an alternative but my preference is a loud enough doorbell.

Have you tried to change the volume on your other devices? Either physically, or in the Google Home app?
