Hi, we use a monitor to stream an outdoor nest camera via chromecast. This stream stayed live for us until the transition to google home. Now the stream only stays on for an hour or so then kicks back to the home screen, rendering this system useless. How can we keep the nest stream on the monitor up permanently? We already have developer options enabled and have all of the necessary 'never' sleep options selected. Thanks all!

Hi @DJSP,
Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear that the Chromecast isn't able to continuously display the Nest camera feed. I'll be happy to help!
Unfortunately, this is a feature that we don't have available for now on the Chromecast. It's possible that this feature was lost during the transition to the Google Home app. This is a helpful feature that we all hope will be available again as soon as possible.
In the meantime, I'd appreciate it if you could share feedback and share with us your thoughts and experiences. It helps us continue improving our products to meet your needs.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Best regards,
Jenniffer

Hi, I provided feedback. Is there any other solution to stream a nest camera to an HDMI monitor that is mounted to a wall?

Hi again, @DJSP,
Great question! While Nest cameras are designed to work with the Google Home app, casting directly to an HDMI monitor isn't currently supported.
However, you can cast the Nest outdoor camera feed to your monitor using a Chromecast connected to it and the Google Home app. The Chromecast acts as a receiver for your phone or tablet, which casts the feed from the Google Home app. Unfortunately, the Google Home app doesn't currently offer a setting to keep the Chromecast stream permanently active.
I also appreciate your feedback! Stay tuned for more news and updates.
