Have had our Nest camera's for quite a while and recently Google sent us the wired Nest cam to replace our indoor Drop cam. The problem is now we can only view that camera on the Home app on the phone and not on the desktop, but out other two outdoor cameras we can still view on the desktop. Is there a way to get the Nest cam also on the desktop? The outdoor cameras do show on the Home app so not sure why the indoor camera is absent on the desktop. Not happy about that, phone image is too small.

Unfortunately, Google Nest decided that its new cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 would work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website.
Our older cameras and doorbells can be viewed in the Google Home app, but full support is still in the Google Nest app.
All cameras and doorbells--old and new--can be live-streamed on the beta/preview home.google.com website that went live in Oct. 2022, but no history is available there. Google Nest says they have plans to augment this website, but there are no dates or specific details. The old home.nest.com website continues to support only our older cameras and doorbells.
We've been using 2 apps for our cameras and doorbells ever since we got a battery camera 23 months ago.

It is unfortunate. Viewing in a small phone screen isn't sufficient, at least in our case. I hope this is changed and they go back to desktop version.

We do as well. But we've been waiting for 23 months for full desktop access to our battery camera. Fortunately, we do have livestream access at the home.google.com website.

You also can't make any clips unless there's history, unlike the desktop version where you can make a clip from any part of the video, doesn't have to be where there was a notification of sound or movement. Really prefer the older version. Should have left well enough alone.

Has anyone found a different camera they can use with their desktop that they are happy with?

Hello Maguire5500,
Thanks for posting in our Community. I genuinely understand the inconvenience you have faced. No worries; let’s check it out.
You can use a web browser like Chrome to view Nest cameras and doorbells that you have in the mobile Google Home app. You can open Google Home for web on a computer or mobile device. Learn more here: Google Home for web and Nest web app.
I totally understand that creating a clip even if there were no events detected will be a good feature to use with your Nest cameras, but it isn’t available. As this is a community forum supported by other users and community specialist's the best way of getting your thoughts, feedback or feature requests to the people that can make changes is by submitting feedback.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.
Best,
Lance
