Disappointing door bell

Anyone else found the google battery driven doorbell and expensive disappointment?

I purchased one of these believing it would work well with our home hub but I now find that it doesn’t “ring” anywhere in the house or on my mobile and the visitor announcement volume is so low it doesn’t get my attention either!

I guess I could turn up the hub volume so the radio station I’m playing is painfully loud, but one would have thought a device like this from a tech company like google would have the ability to be heard in the home when someone comes to the door.

Thoroughly disappointed in this product! ☹️☹️☹️

Hi @FlyballFleur,

Thank you for posting in the community and sharing your experience with your Google Nest Doorbell battery. I understand your disappointment that it's not ringing effectively or providing sufficient visitor announcement volume, even with your Nest Hub. I'm here to help.

We understand your observations regarding notification volume. If you're certain that visitor announcements are activated and configured correctly, please keep in mind that your Google devices are designed to follow and maintain the volume settings you've set for them. If your device's overall volume is set to a low level, notifications and announcements will also come through at that lower volume. This ensures your devices always reflect your preferred listening experience.

Please consider sharing your thoughts directly with our development team through this feedback form. Your input will help us prioritize features and ensure that we're meeting the needs of our diverse user base.

Feel free to keep posting if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Kevin

I was (wrongly) expecting a company with the technical expertise could have used a bit of brain power and thought through that a doorbell would most likely need to be louder than anything playing on the nest. Similar to just about every modern car where the volume of driver assist and most other warnings can be adjusted separate from the media player.
Shame really as the sound along with the time it takes nest to pickup on the bell being rung makes the unit almost worthless. ☹️☹️
